CCCF Awards Over $105,000 in Scholarships for 2025

For 2025, scholarship funds associated with the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation are awarding over $105,000 in scholarships to area students who will be attending colleges and trade schools in the fall of 2025. Over the last 5 years, the total dollar amount of scholarships awarded has grown from just over $40,000 in 2020 to over $105.400 for 2025.
CCCF Executive Director Mark McCracken said “Thanks to the individuals, families and community organizations that have established scholarship funds with the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation, we are able to provide significant financial assistance to local students who want to continue their education and pursue careers that will benefit society. Many of the scholarship funds established with the Charitable Foundation are done by families in memory of a beloved family member and it helps carry on a legacy of the person lost. The community and scholarship recipients can be thankful for the generosity of the individuals, families and organizations that established the scholarship funds and the donors who continue to regularly donate in support of each individual scholarship fund”. The Clearfield County Charitable Foundation Board of Directors congratulates all scholarship recipients and appreciates the generosity and dedication of all the scholarship committees.
Scholarship funds that were newly established or transferred to the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation in the past year were: the John L. Jr and Viola Eamigh Memorial Scholarship Fund established by Peggy Materkowski and John L. Eamigh III in memory of their parents, the Brenda Clapsadle Thornhill Scholarship Fund which was transferred by the Clapsadle Thornhill family and is in memory of their daughter, sister and mother who was tragically killed in an automobile accident, the Scipione Family Scholarship established by Ronald Scipione to honor past and present members of the Scipione Family, the Nellie Pentz Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund established by Thomas and Patricia Culler in memory of Patricia’s grandmother Nellie Pentz who encouraged Patricia to pursue a career in nursing, the Russell Pentz and Sons Memorial Scholarship Fund established by Thomas and Patricia Culler in memory of Patricia’s grandfather, father and uncles who operated a construction company in the Clearfield area for many years, and the Children’s Orthopedics Services INC Scholarship Fund established to award annual scholarships to graduates of Clearfield Area High School.
