Representatives of the Zentmyer Grant Committee from the Noble Lodge 480 Curwensville, Osceola Masonic Lodge 515 and Coalport Masonic Lodge 574 along with the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation recently attended the Shine Bright for Lincoln fundraiser to award a 2026 P. B. Zentmyer Grant to the family of Lincoln Johnston.
Lincoln has been diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Septo Optic Hypoplasia, Cortical Visual Impairment and requires specialized ongoing 24-hour nursing care in his home. Lincoln is also a student at the Western PA School for Blind Children in Pittsburgh.
Lori Knox, Lincoln’s grandmother and legal guardian along with her husband James said “We need to make several modifications to our house in order to accommodate Lincoln’s daily needs. The Zentmyer Grant will help us install an emergency generator system before the end of 2026 because some of Lincoln’s required medical equipment must have reliable and consistent electrical power. We are thankful for this grant award from the Masons and the CCCF along with our family and friends who supported and donated to the Shine Bright for Lincoln event”.
Speaking on behalf of the Zentmyer Grant Committee, Rick Coudriet said “Our 3 local Masonic Lodges were entrusted by the estate of P. B. Zentmyer to oversee and distribute funds from the trust to Clearfield County children with specific medical needs. Working with the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation, we annually accept applications from families that need financial assistance for their child’s special and unexpected medical treatment costs. This year, we are pleased to be able to help Lincoln, Lori and James with their project to install an emergency generator system to meet Lincoln’s ongoing daily medical needs. The strength, love and support that Lori and James provide for Lincoln along with the community support they are receiving is an inspiration”.
Mark McCracken, Executive Director of the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation added “Supporting and helping Lincoln and his family meets the criteria P. B. Zentmyer set forth when he established the Zentmyer Fund almost 100 years ago. It was his desire to help young children with special medical needs and conditions so families can afford to care for their own. We look forward to seeing a successful completion of the emergency generator project in the coming months”.
